Game On! Junk Warrior Edition

By Sara Abbott

Welcome to “Game On!” the column where I review one card each week on how strong it is, what kind of deck would this card work in, and the pros and cons of the card. Today, to kick off the new semester, I am going to review “Junk Warrior”, the very first synchro monster that appeared in the anime.

“Junk Warrior” is a level 5 dark attribute synchro monster with 2300 attack points and 1300 defense points. When this card is synchro summoned, it gains attack points equal to the total number of attack points of all level 2 or lower monsters on your side of the field. This card is rather unique as it draws power from your weaker monsters.

However, one of the synchro-material monsters must be the tuner monster “Junk Synchron”, but “Junk Synchron”’s ability lets you special summon a level 2 or lower monster from your graveyard onto the field. So even if your low monsters are destroyed, summon “Junk Synchron”, use its ability to special summon a level 2 monster from your graveyard, and then bring out “Junk Warrior”!

I would say that the best deck to use “Junk Warrior” in would be a “Yusei” deck. A “Yusei” deck is the same as Yusei Fudo’s in the “Yu-Gi-Oh! 5ds” anime. It uses low level monsters and focuses on bringing out synchro monsters like “Junk Warrior” and “Stardust Dragon” as fast as you can.

So, in conclusion, “Junk Warrior” is a unique card that relies on the strength of all of your low level monsters, and can turn the game around for you if used in a Yusei deck. That’s all for this week, see you next time here at “Game On!”.
