Welcome to “Game On!” the column where I review one card each week on how strong it is, what kind of deck would this card work in, and the pros and cons of the card. Today I will review the equip spell card “Amulet of Ambition” from the Tactical Evolution set.
This card’s effect is quite unique. When a normal monster card equipped with “Amulet of Ambition” battles one of your opponent’s monsters that has a higher level, monster card equipped with “Amulet of Ambition” gains 500 attack points times the difference of levels. For example, if “Amulet of Ambition” was equipped to “Zure, Knight of Dark World” and it attacked a “Blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon”, since “Zure, Knight of Dark World” is a level 4 monster and “Blue-eyes Ultimate Dragon” is a level 12 monster, “Zure, Knight of Dark World” would gain 4000 attack points because the difference between the 2 levels is 8!
A deck that “Amulet of Ambition” would work best in is a Zombie deck that focuses on “Skull Servant” and “King of the Skull Servants”. Although “King of the Skull Servants” is an effect monster, “Skull Servant” is a level 1 normal monster. If you equip “Amulet of Ambition” to “Skull Servant”, you will greatly increase its attack points and give you a bit of protection until you can bring out “King of the Skull Servants”.
So, in conclusion, “Amulet of Ambition” can be a very useful card if used in the proper deck. That’s all for this week, see you next time here at “Game On!”
