The Boy’s Golf Team has started off the season with a win against Clarksville, a good outing at the Floyd Central Invitational, and a second place finish against in Mitchell and Orleans. The team has some new faces, including a new head coach and three new players. Chris Thurston, the new coach teaches P.E. at the middle school. Rylie Smith, Jason Zinc (freshmen) and senior Dylan St. Clair are the others that have joined the team.
Junior Andy Nice, who plays number two on the team, has been looking forward to getting the season started. “I love all the nice courses we play at and all the cool people I get to meet.” Nice has had a decent start to the season, finishing with an 88, eighteen over par, at the Floyd Central Invitational. “I’ve been playing mediocre. I just need to work on my swing for later in the season.” He has really been impressed by the way the team’s other junior, Jalen Brown, has been playing. “He’s shooting consistent every match.” Nice is looking forward to playing at Wooded View in Clarksville at the end of the season. “It’s conference and it is always hyped up. There are a lot of people there.
